Hike & Yoga Retreat

Saturday 17th October | 10am – 4pm

A slow paced beginner friendly hike and yoga adventure on a Special Area of Conservation. For a few hours, you get to step out of the world that’s always asking for your attention…and into one that asks nothing of you at all.

Take a day out. Properly.

No notifications. No rushing. No pressure to perform. No pressure to keep up.. Just a good walk, good food, and time to slow things down again.

If you’ve been craving fresh air, space, and a proper switch off…

This day was made for you

What the day looks like

The Hike (10am – 1pm)

A simple, well-paced day designed to help you step away from the usual and get a bit of space, both physically and mentally.

Start with a guided 5km hike through some of the most beautiful parts of the Cavan countryside: rolling drumlins farmland, peaceful woodlands, quiet country lanes, and along the lakeshore. It’s a scenic route and beginner-friendly, with plenty of time to stop, take it in, and just breathe.

We ask people to keep phones away where possible, just so you can enjoy being there without distraction.

The area we’re walking through is a Special Area of Conservation, and part of a wider space that’s been recognised with a Gold Award for sustainability. It’s something we’re really proud of, so we keep things simple and respectful — leaving no trace, being mindful of the land, and just treating the place well.

This hike isn’t any kind of a race. It’s a wander, breathe, take-it-all-in kind of hike. Beginner friendly, relaxed pace, plenty of moments to pause and soak it up.

The Lunch (1pm-2pm)

At 1pm, we’ll arrive at Clough Oughter Café for a nourishing lunch. Good food, good company, and a chance to refuel.

Then we slow it all the way down…

The Yin Unwind (2pm-3pm)

At 2pm, you’ll be guided through a Yin Yoga session by the lakeshore. This is gentle slow stretching, longer holds to release tension, open the body, and calm the nervous system.

The Heat (3pm-4pm)

And just when you think it can’t get better…3pm Sauna Time. Step into the heat, warm the body from the inside out, let tired muscles relax, and your mind go quiet.

(Optional dip if you're feeling brave )
